All nightlights are cut using a hand held glass cutter. The glass edges are smoothed with a grinder, then cleaned, and copper applied to the edges of the glass. This is the Louis Tiffany method of doing stained glass work. Using a soldering iron, lead is melted and beaded on to the copper to hold it all together. Another cleaning, then waxing/cleaning are the final steps before attaching the glass to a UL listed nightlight base. Each has a toggle on/off switch. 4 watt replaceable bulbs give just the right amount of light for a soft glow in any room or hallway.
For the silhouette nightlights, I cut the designs out by hand from a sheet of copper. Each design is then leaded over, using a soldering iron and lead solder, and then attached to the circle of stained glass. Lead came surrounds the glass to give it a finished look. The color of the glass makes a pretty background to whatever design you choose. Custom designs are possible... just send me your ideas/needs for a price quote.
Because all of this glasswork is done by hand, slight variations may be seen. No mass producing in our shop! Likewise, the streaks in the glass can vary to make each nightlight unique. The stained glass on most lights are 3"-4" in size.
Just $26 plus shipping for any nightlight on this page, regardless of the color that you choose.
